Year 8 recently visited Ipswich Gurdwara as part of their study of world religions. On arrival at the Gurdwara they washed their hands, removed shoes, put on turbans and were shown around the wonderful building.
The guide, Bhupindar Singh gave a thoughtful and stimulating talk about Sikhism and the philosophy of this fascinating faith. He told the children about the importance of the Gurdwara and the Guru Granth Sahib and what it is like to be a Sikh living in Britain.
The students listened intently and asked a multitude of perceptive questions, that clearly thrilled Bhupindar.
Bhupindar complemented the children on their knowledge and gave an open invitation for any of our party to return to celebrate the anniversary of Guru Nanak’s birthday in November.
